Current Trainees
The Research Department at the CORE Center has served as a formative training environment in nursing, psychology, public health, and social work.
Christopher V. Balthazar, MA
Mr. Balthazar is currently a Community Psychology PhD student at National Louis University. Chris has served as the Project Director for the #ChopViolence/#ChopHIV (R34), and POSSE (R01) studies. He is currently the Co-Principal Investigator on a CFAR Community Collaborative Award with Dr. Darnell Motley (University of Chicago/Third Coast Center for AIDS Research). He is the lead on Implement TransPrEP, an NIMH Diversity Supplement Award to the Transgender Youth and PrEP study (R01).
Pedro A. Serrano, MPH, CPH
Mr. Serrano is currently a Public Health DrPH student at Walden University. Pedro has served as the Project Director for Keeping it LITE (UG3/UH3) and Transgender Youth and PrEP (Ro1) studies. He is currently the Co-Principal Investigator on a CFAR Community Collaborative Award with Dr. Gregory Phillips II (Northwestern University/Third Coast Center for AIDS Research).
